This experience facilitated his transition to entrepreneurship, collaborating with partners to establish and acquire their own firms. As a Senior Partner in Cypress Equipment which later became Madill Canada, Barry played an instrumental role in the development and growth of the coastal forestry industry, spanning from Haida Gwaii to southern Vancouver Island.

In the wake of his retirement, Barry's commitment to the industry remains unwavering. For the past 22 years, he has continued to serve as a valued member of the Board of Directors for Hodder Tugboat Co. Ltd., and Squamish Marine Service Ltd.
